Clive Roberts (The Boss)
Onetime highflying Human Resource supremo in industry, Clive finally decided to 'go it alone' in the late 1980’s when he founded Original Organics. He well remembers the fright on the face of the bank manager when he went for a loan and presented his business plan - an ex Personnel professional planning on making a living selling Wormeries and worms. It was new, innovative and ahead of its time and bank managers preferred the tried and tested - even the word Wormery was new! Well what was odd and quirky in the 1980’s is now very definitely in the mainstream so he was perhaps just a bit of a visionary – just look at all our imitators should you doubt this!
He likes to think of himself as something of an intellectual but in reality is more of a workaholic. Whilst not in the office (which is a rare occurrence) Clive enjoys the occasional pint or three of real ale! He is also a passionate advocate on behalf of families with special needs children and is often involved with intricate tussles with the educational bureaucrats on their behalf. Clive’s son Adam is autistic and this has involved a steep, fast, ongoing and fascinating learning curve, the benefit of which he is happy to share. In fact, on weekends and school holidays, Adam often comes into work to ‘help’ dad and keep the rest of us on our toes!
Clive is in charge of our general 'strategy' and oversees the general management and running of the business. He has the most extensive and amazingly impressive knowledge of worms of anyone we know! Like all of us here, Clive is a keen environmentalist and evangelist of all things recycling.

Liam Martin (Technical 'Guru' and General Busybody)
Liam joined Original Organics in 2003, initially in customer service. His responsibilities now include looking after our sales and marketing strategies, advertising and managing our online presence (that's this one right here!). He actually left Original Organics for a year or so back in 2005 to try launching a 'high-flying' career working for a BT-owned internet company and, whilst he did manage to last a year, being far from home and missing the involvement of Original Organics he came back in 2007.
Liam is a director of the company and works closely with Clive to develop our business and is tasked with running our online and offline advertising and marketing campaigns. It is also Liams responsibility to ensure that all our internal systems and order processing systems are up and running to full efficiency - so it's his fault when they do occasionally fail on us!
Outside of work Liam is a keen user of the internet, likes a little heavy metal and frequenting his local alcohol serving establishment!

Maria (Customer Service Supervisor)
Maria heads up our Customer Service Team here at our offices in Devon. She joined Original Organics in 2001 as a Customer Service Team Member and is highly knowledgeable in all aspects of our product range. Maria holds overall responsibility for ensuring that orders are passed to our Despatch team in a timely manner and ensuring that customers contacting us by email or phone receive a fantastic service.
Outside of work she still manages to run the household of 5 sons and a husband and has been known to enjoy sofa shopping with the television shopping channels!

Joy (Accounts Guru)
Joy joined us in 2007 and takes overall responsibility for the day to day running of our Accounts. If you get an invoice from us, it will be from Joy! When she isn't busy sending bills, making sure suppliers are paid on time and chasing payments you will also find Joy answering customer calls and queries alongside our Customer Service Team.
Outside of work Joy is a keen lover of the outdoors and also enjoys the odd drop of wine.

Paul (Web Application Developer - sounds 'techie' doesn't it!)
Paul is relatively new to us and is our technical website developer. We'll be rolling out many improvements to all our websites over the next few months and Paul will be working on most of them - so watch this space! Paul works with Liam to ensure all our systems are running smoothly and we'll soon be launching our new, revamped internal order processing systems to make us even more efficient!
Outside of the office in his spare time Paul makes internet games, mobile phone apps and small hobby websites, when not working on 'code', Paul tells me he likes to play with fire poi (does anyone even know what that is?) Sounds dangerous!
Caren, Shelley and Katy - Our Customer Service Extraordinaires
Our Customer Service Team are here to provide you with the best possible service when you contact us. They are our 'front line' on the phones and are also responsible for ensuring that emails and faxes are dealt with in a timely fashion.
It is also the job of our Customer Service Team to liaise with our couriers where necessary to ensure that they too provide our customers with a good service.
Don't ever be afraid of giving us a call. While they are a mad bunch, the office is exceptionally well humoured with these guys around!
The job of our production and despatch team is to ensure that customers receive the items they expect, on time and in good condition. If you have received an order from us - it will usually be either Paul or Dave who have packed and despatched it!
Kelvin is in charge of making our rotationally moulded composting bins here in our factory, whilst Dave and Paul (the shy one!) produce, build-up and maintain our Wormery stock and look after our stocked lines.

Mike ("Senior Financial Executive")
When we asked Mike for his job title, the above is what he gave. In reality, Mike comes in once or twice a month to make sure all the fiddly bits of our accounts are tied up nicely and that they're all ship-shape. It's also Mike's job to provide the management accounts to the Directors at each month-end along with deal with our VAT returns.
Outside of the office he is a 70s glam-rocker. Seems a strange hobby for an accountant but yes it is true! We did ask if he would dress up for our picture but he was having none of it! Weird, because as you can see, Mike is also a poser.
